The Caves des Hautes Cotes is situated on the outskirts of the city of Beaune, at the crossroads which leads to Pommard, Meursault, and the other great wines of the Appellation. 200 members of the Caves, small growers who produce the fruit but take it to the Caves for vinification and then bottling, are totally involved in the ”hands on” production of very good Burgundy. These two wines are the finest wines of the vintage in their Appellation, and are rightly regarded with great pride. The white is produced from the Chardonnay grape, and the red from the Pinot Noir grape.
